WE DID IT GUYS I didn’t know how to tell you this… so here it is. Blogilates apparel is back in Target! SHOP BLOGILATES AT TARGET The first time Blogilates launched apparel in Target, I had 6 weeks to prove myself. If my designs didn’t sell, that was it. At first, I was so overwhelmed with joy that my childhood dream (that no one thought I could achieve) was coming true. My designs were in Target nationwide! But that feeling soon faded. Reality set in and I suddenly became overwhelmed with doubt. What if you hated it? What if it flopped? This was a test to prove that my brand could sell. It felt like the alternative was total failure and shame. A little dramatic maybe, but you know what I mean. That day, I sat and scrolled and my entire FYP was you guys trying on Blogilates! I held my breath as I watched each one because reviews give me such anxiety. But then… I think you liked it! You started sending me photos from your local stores of EMPTY RACKS! Because of you, Blogilates is back in Target I want to be transparent and say that this announcement should be a celebratory moment but I’ve been really hesitant to share this news with you. Many of you have been asking if Blogilates was ever coming back to Target – some asking because they wanted to know if they could buy more… and others because they thought I was being kicked out. The good news is that the latter obviously didn’t happen, but that is THANKS TO YOU. Your support during my first drop was the PROVING I needed to do in that first 6-week test. YOU are the reason why this minority-owned, woman-owned brand gets to have another shot. This time around, you’ll find some returning designs, plus some new styles and colors that I hope you love as much as I do. I added a knot, a stretchy scrunch, an an asymmetrical waist to sarongify. And then I added what sarongs don’t have – a built-in bikini bottom. Here’s the final look! The low rise trend is so unfortunate for someone like me who just doesn’t have the flat abs you see on many models wearing this style. I wanted the Y2K Cargo Pants to work on fellow soft hip girlies without being too pinchy, too high rise or too low rise. I wanted them WIDE to avoid looking like men’s work pants. And I wanted the length to work for everyone… so 3 inseams it is! Also noteworthy: Stretchy, water-resistant technical fabric that won’t snag 7 pockets to hold your actual cargo V-waistband to accentuate your waist Elongating leg seams Non-baggy butt I seriously cannot believe the initial designing started on June 3, 2022! That’s 3 YEARS AGO OMG. I was losing hope along the development journey…thinking that cargo pants would be out of style by the time we figured this out! It was a toughie. But glad we made it. With the Pistachio drop, I decided to extend the cloud hoodie size range to include: XXS/XS S/M <— what I’m wearing M/L (new) L/XL 1X/2X (new) 3X/4X (new) If these sizes work out well, I’ll implement the new sizing across all the colors! Even the waistband is so stretchy that I don’t feel it on my skin AT ALL. Seriously, I don’t sacrifice comfort for cuteness when it comes to sleep. It must be both. And yes, pockets are necessary on all things sooo I added one to both sides. Was the pee tutorial sufficient, or were instructions still unclear? SHEIN has fully gone shameless thief mode. Ugh. Hey guys, SHEIN is at it again, stealing designs without making even the slightest effort to hide what they’re doing. Remember when the company president called me and promised this wouldn’t happen again? Well, here we are. They’re not only stealing the designs, but the entire vision for each one; From how the design is styled to how the model is posed. It’s ridiculous. I don’t know if I should laugh or cry. Victim #1: Hiking Superskort How creative of you to pair your copy of my skort with a white top, on a model with the same skin tone. SHOP HIKING SUPERSKORT Victim #2: Bungee Superskort I guess when I said, “Stop stealing my skort design,” SHEIN actually heard “Help yourself to all of my skort designs.” SHOP BUNGEE SUPERSKORT Victim #3: Bungee Sklegging I don’t even know what to say. Having your model hold a tennis racket doesn’t make anything about this original. SHEIN seems to think they can steal a design, take it down when “caught,” and relist it under a different name. Their inventory is so massive (hi, fast fashion), that they assume stolen designs are easy to “hide,” like a dupe of my Pirouette Skort, listed with 14 pages of other skorts. But we’re catching on. Designers and small business owners like me are watching. Our communities are watching. And we’re fighting. And if you still think I’m “overreacting,” tell that to hundreds of other small business owners who unknowingly worked for free to contribute to SHEIN’s $32 billion of revenue in 2023… To Mr. Chiao, Tell me sir, what is the point of running a business with no integrity? Building a brand with no trust? I guess for $32.5 billion a year, you think stealing is just a way of business, don’t you? To my community, I didn’t want to bring this up again but I just can’t keep it in. I am boiling over with disappointment and anger. SHEIN doing this to me is one thing, but the people who will end up commenting on my post defending this billion-dollar corporation is a whole ‘nother kind of twisted. I am so weirded out…dupe culture, exposed. Hey guys, Dupe culture = counterfeit culture. There, I said it. No one wants to hear it but it’s true, and it’s getting absolutely out of control. I’m sharing with you what’s been happening with me because I am terrified of the future of dupe culture, especially with its popularity being propelled by the use of AI. There is really no point in trying to explain any of this to you through writing…so I want you to watch this video. You have to see it to believe it. The video is about 5 min and 40 sec – kind of long – but trust me, you will want to watch all the way to the end. It just gets weirder and weirder… First, let’s set the stage. My Pirouette Skort was first stolen by SHEIN, twice, and then duped numerous times all over Amazon. I eventually was awarded a design patent for my skort in hopes of having some protection. Well, it’s only gotten astronomically worse after Taylor Swift wore it this spring. Grateful forever , however, the extra exposure opened the floodgates for the counterfeiters to hijack the opportunity. There are dupers coming out from every corner of the internet and I am getting so exhausted trying to whack-a-mole each one. K, here we go. AI is making it way WAY too easy to steal designs, falsify images, and trick consumers into buying fake, lower quality products. It’s a lawless place in the world of fashion and no one’s paying attention to these crimes except for me and my small team, who are often notified by you guys in the DMs. Thank you for watching out for me as this becomes a bigger and bigger problem. The “Why” Behind the Reversible Deep V Tee My first version of the Deep V Tee was released over 66 weeks ago. I designed it for those of us who still wanted to show off our cute sports bras while working out but didn’t feel comfortable enough to show off our midriff too. This may not be a relatable problem for some of you, but for those of you who get it…I get it too, and I feel you. Let‘s just say that over a decade of intense body shaming online attacking all of your deepest insecurities can really do some serious damage to your confidence and I’m still healing from it. Not saying we need to hide our bodies, ever. In fact, I want you to show off all you’ve got!! Just saying that if you don’t “get” the idea behind this shirt, it’s ok and it’s not for you.
