It’s ultra light, soft and stretchy. Even the waistband is so stretchy that I don’t feel it on my skin AT ALL. Seriously, I don’t sacrifice comfort for cuteness when it comes to sleep. It must be both. And yes, pockets are necessary on all things sooo I added one to both sides. Was the pee tutorial sufficient, or were instructions still unclear? SHEIN has fully gone shameless thief mode. Ugh. Hey guys, SHEIN is at it again, stealing designs without making even the slightest effort to hide what they’re doing. Remember when the company president called me and promised this wouldn’t happen again? Well, here we are. They’re not only stealing the designs, but the entire vision for each one; From how the design is styled to how the model is posed. I don’t know if I should laugh or cry.   Victim #1: Hiking Superskort How creative of you to pair your copy of my skort with a white top, on a model with the same skin tone. SHOP HIKING SUPERSKORT   Victim #2: Bungee Superskort I guess when I said, “Stop stealing my skort design,” SHEIN actually heard “Help yourself to all of my skort designs.” SHOP BUNGEE SUPERSKORT   Victim #3: Bungee Sklegging I don’t even know what to say. Having your model hold a tennis racket doesn’t make anything about this original.   SHOP BUNGEE SKLEGGING   Victim #4: Tie-Breaker Superdress Sigh…   SHOP TIE-BREAKER SUPERDRESS Victim #5: Twirl Dress Annnnd another attempt to copy the entire look.   SHOP TWIRL DRESS Victim #6: Corset Bra Guys, I AM SO TIRED. SHOP CORSET BRA This has to stop. SHEIN seems to think they can steal a design, take it down when “caught,” and relist it under a different name. Their inventory is so massive (hi, fast fashion), that they assume stolen designs are easy to “hide,” like a dupe of my Pirouette Skort, listed with 14 pages of other skorts. But we’re catching on. Designers and small business owners like me are watching. Our communities are watching. And we’re fighting. And if you still think I’m “overreacting,” tell that to hundreds of other small business owners who unknowingly worked for free to contribute to SHEIN’s $32 billion of revenue in 2023… To Mr. Chiao, Tell me sir, what is the point of running a business with no integrity? Building a brand with no trust? I guess for $32.5 billion a year, you think stealing is just a way of business, don’t you? To my community, I didn’t want to bring this up again but I just can’t keep it in. I am boiling over with disappointment and anger. SHEIN doing this to me is one thing, but the people who will end up commenting on my post defending this billion-dollar corporation is a whole ‘nother kind of twisted. I am so weirded out…dupe culture, exposed. Hey guys, Dupe culture = counterfeit culture. There, I said it. No one wants to hear it but it’s true, and it’s getting absolutely out of control. I’m sharing with you what’s been happening with me because I am terrified of the future of dupe culture, especially with its popularity being propelled by the use of AI. There is really no point in trying to explain any of this to you through writing…so I want you to watch this video. You have to see it to believe it. The video is about 5 min and 40 sec – kind of long – but trust me, you will want to watch all the way to the end. It just gets weirder and weirder… First, let’s set the stage. My Pirouette Skort was first stolen by SHEIN, twice, and then duped numerous times all over Amazon. I eventually was awarded a design patent for my skort in hopes of having some protection. Well, it’s only gotten astronomically worse after Taylor Swift wore it this spring. Grateful forever , however, the extra exposure opened the floodgates for the counterfeiters to hijack the opportunity. There are dupers coming out from every corner of the internet and I am getting so exhausted trying to whack-a-mole each one. Actually, it will probably get worse. AI is making it way WAY too easy to steal designs, falsify images, and trick consumers into buying fake, lower quality products. It’s a lawless place in the world of fashion and no one’s paying attention to these crimes except for me and my small team, who are often notified by you guys in the DMs. Thank you for watching out for me as this becomes a bigger and bigger problem. Feeling Like a 1950s Debutante Barbie Hey guys! I really felt like a 1950s Debutante Barbie last night at the Asian American Awards Unforgettable Gala with my big tulle skirt and tall white gloves! First time ever wearing a petticoat and wow WAS IT HEAVY. Also, I always kinda wanted to know what a dress that couldn’t fit into a car looked like and well, now I know. Oh but you know what I don’t know? How do you pee? No seriously though! How did the European ladies, princesses and queens do it back in the day…because I held it in all night. There is NO WAY I was gonna let that tulle touch the floor of a public restroom! The slow cardio treadmill workout I’m loving right now My current workout mood: 30-1-30 30 incline 1 mph 30 minutes   View this post on Instagram   A post shared by Cassey Ho (@blogilates)   30-1-30 Treadmill Workout This treadmill workout seriously gets my heart rate so high, and in comparison to running (which feels like torture to me) this slow cardio hiking situation feels more enjoyable for my body! I spent yearsssss trying to like HIIT, trying to like running, but honestly, it always felt like I had to try SO hard. I also never really felt like I got better at it.   Ever since I’ve been testing out slow cardio like the 12-3-30, I’ve noticed my body is just simply liking it more. I’m better at it. It’s weird because my heart rate gets high (higher than when I’m running) and yet my muscles aren’t dying. Mentally and emotionally, I’m not dying either! To be completely honest, it’s the first cardio I think I’m actually good at and getting better at, which is so exciting! It all kinda goes back to what your body is better suited for. I have the endurance to push through slow hard things (that’s why I’m good at Pilates) but I know I’m bad at fast sprints (that’s why I never really enjoyed HIIT). It’s just not meant for my body, so I gas out really fast. Give this a try if fast cardio didn’t work for you either! I’m seeing changes in my body and my booty…and I love! A snapshot of life lately… Hey guys! Life. It’s been…absolute insanity. Like the really good kind of insanity but the really intense kind of insanity. The kind that you dream of, but the kind that will break you if keep going like this. Yesterday I was honored as one of Youtube’s OG Asian American creators, alongside some iconic legends. I was supposed to prepare a speech…but in a room full of people who I had once admired from afar who then came to be my real-life friends, I decided to speak from the heart instead. Isn’t it wild how the universe works? Pilates, YouTube and you guys brought me back to my childhood dream of becoming a fashion designer…something I was told I’d NEVER succeed at…and yet here I am, living the most intense version of my dream. So intense that it’s about to break me. After the gala, Sam and I had to tend to some real world duties. In my literal evening gown and heels, we went to go check on a paint job (we’re in the middle of moving into a new office for POPFLEX) to make sure the contractors did their work. It was then that I asked Sam to shoot me amongst the construction because it was a perfect representation of us TRYING to harmonize the extremes in our lives: The contrast of dream and reality… The juxtaposition of elegance and chaos… The push and pull between a thriving business and a balanced life that does not exist… This is us right now. Truly thrilled. Yet truly exhausted. I’m grateful for all of it, and for what’s to come. But I know in my bones that if I don’t slow down I will break down. Hey guys! Life.
